MAH-MBA CET focuses heavily on Logical Reasoning and Speed, with moderate difficulty in Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Consistent practice and time management are key to scoring well.

Study plan

I’ll give you two things together so you can actually use this right away:

  1. Important topics with weightage (what to focus on)

  2. A simple 3-month study plan for MBA CET

1) Important Topics with Weightage (MBA CET)

Logical Reasoning (Highest weight)

This section can make or break your score.

High-priority topics:

  • Seating arrangements (linear & circular)

  • Puzzles (distribution, comparison, scheduling)

  • Syllogisms

  • Blood relations

  • Direction sense

  • Coding–decoding

  • Statement–conclusion / assumption

  • Venn diagrams

Around 40–45% of the paper comes from LR + puzzles.

Abstract Reasoning (Easy scoring)

Usually quick and pattern-based.

Focus on:

2.       Abstract Reasoning (AR)

  • Figure series

  • Figure analogy

Visit Here

  • Odd one out (figures)

Visit Here

  • Pattern recognition

Visit Here

  • Symbol-based reasoning

Visit Here

Very practice-oriented. Accuracy matters more than theory.

Quantitative Aptitude (Moderate level)

Mostly arithmetic-based.

Quantitative Aptitude (Moderate level)

Most important topics:

  • Percentages

  • Ratio and proportion

Visit Here

  • Profit and loss

Visit Here

  • Averages

  • Time & work

  • Time, speed & distance

Visit Here

  • Data interpretation (tables, bar graphs)

Visit Here

Lower priority (do basics)

  • Algebra

Visit Here

  • Geometry

Visit Here

  • Probability

CET maths is speed-based, not deep calculations.

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension

Balanced section.

Focus on:

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension

  • Reading comprehension (2–3 passages)

  • Para jumbles

  • Vocabulary (basic level)

Grammar clarity + reading speed helps a lot.

2) Simple 3-Month Study Plan (MBA CET)

Month 1: Basics + Foundation

  • QA: Arithmetic basics daily (1–1.5 hrs)

  • LR: Blood relations, directions, syllogism

  • AR: One topic daily

  • Verbal: Grammar rules + vocab

  • Weekend: Section-wise practice tests

Month 2: Practice + Speed

  • LR: Puzzles and seating arrangements daily

  • QA: Mixed arithmetic + DI

  • AR: Timed practice sets

  • Verbal: RC practice every alternate day

  • Weekend: 1 full-length mock test + analysis

Month 3: Mocks + Revision

  • 3–4 full mocks per week

  • Analyze mistakes carefully

  • Revise formulas and shortcuts

  • Focus on accuracy over attempts

  • Strengthen your best sections

CET Exam Strategy (Very Important)

  • Start with your strongest section

  • Don’t get stuck on puzzles too long

  • Skip lengthy calculations

  • Accuracy > number of attempts

  • Use elimination technique in AR & Verbal

Practical Daily Timetable

Let’s lock this in with a practical daily timetable. This is realistic, not overkill, and works even if you’re in college or working part-time.

Daily Study Timetable for MBA CET (4–5 hours/day)
Morning (1.5 hours)

Quantitative Aptitude

  • 45 mins: Arithmetic topic practice
(percentages, ratio, profit & loss, averages)

  • 45 mins: Timed questions + shortcut revision

Why morning? Maths needs a fresh brain.

Afternoon / Evening (1.5 hours)

Logical Reasoning

  • 1 hour: Puzzles / seating arrangement / syllogism

  • 30 mins: Previous CET-level questions

This section carries maximum weight. Daily practice is non-negotiable.

Evening / Night (1 hour)

Verbal Ability or Abstract Reasoning (alternate days)

Day 1:

  • 30 mins RC

  • 30 mins grammar / para jumbles

Day 2:

  • 1 hour Abstract Reasoning (figure series, analogy)

AR improves only with repetition.

Last 30 minutes (Very important)

  • Revise mistakes

  • Note shortcuts

  • Re-attempt wrong questions

  • Light reading (editorials or RC passages)

Weekly Plan

  • Monday–Friday: Follow daily timetable

  • Saturday:

    • Sectional tests

    • Revise weak topics

  • Sunday:

    • 1 full-length mock test

    • Deep analysis (2–3 hours)

Analysis matters more than the mock itself.

Best Books & Resources for MBA CET

Logical & Abstract Reasoning

  • LR section only

  • Analytical Reasoning

  • CET-specific mock papers (very important)

Quantitative Aptitude

  • Basic arithmetic only

  • selected questions

  • CET previous year questions

Verbal Ability & RC

  • Word Power Made Easy (vocabulary)

  • Norman Lewis (selective use)

  • Previous CET RC sets

Mock Tests (Most Important)

Choose one and stick to it:

  • IMS

  • TIME

  • CL (Career Launcher)

Do not jump between platforms.

Final CET Tips (Scoring Edge)

  • Aim for 140–160 attempts with accuracy

  • Skip time-consuming puzzles

  • Abstract Reasoning is your speed booster

  • Don’t over-study theory

  • CET rewards smart attempts, not perfection
